Pictured here is the Elmalı Kilise, or Apple Church, of Open Air Museum in Göreme. Built around 1050AD, the cave church features four columns, nine domes and three apses of the closed cruciform type. The true draw of the Elmalı Kilise, however, is the vivid colors of the various frescoes and decorations on the walls and ceiling which largely survived due to the limited amount of sunlight that reaches the interior.
