Taken at the United States Submarine Force Library and Museum, the photograph features rings depicting the beams of the USS Holland (SS-1) and the USS Ohio (SSGN-726, formerly SSBN-726). The Holland was the first modern commissioned submarine in the United States Navy. The Ohio is the lead boat of her class of nuclear-powered fleet ballistic missile submarines, but was converted into a guided missile submarine from 2003 to 2006.
