Taken during our free day in Marrakech after the completion of the 2010 FOCUS Bike4Like in the halls of the souk Djemaa el Fna.
Yet another photograph from Morocco showing the contrast between old and new. It was, quite literally, everywhere. Oftentimes, it could be found in the same residence, such as in this photograph. These two doors opened into the same residential complex, yet one had been converted into a garage of sorts while the other remained an entryway. I love that the one chosen as a parking space has the more intricate doorway and also the more damage. The whole thing makes for an interesting visual metaphor.
I don’t really like making diptychs. The whole process doesn’t sit well with me. These two images, however, seemed to work better together as a diptych to me, so here they are.
