I love the juxtaposition in the photograph of the new Morroco with the old Morocco. The crew who both led us during the biking portion of the Bike4Life Challenge and took care of us during the camping portions mentioned time and time again how Morocco was changing due to urbanization, how most people in the rural areas don’t understand how those in the city could call themselves Muslims when they drunk and party the way they do, and how those still in the outskirts worry about how the movement to the cities will affect their lives and livelihood.
Just before I took this photograph, I noticed the young girl (in a denim skirt no less) eyeing the scooter as her mother pulled her away from it only to be confronted by a man selling cheap handheld electronics.
