Not Lying, Denying

Nikon D300
105mm, f/8, 1/500 sec, ISO 800

I went back and forth on this shot for a pretty long while. On one one hand, I like the semi-abstraction of this and the colors just scream Italy (What else is the North End in Boston about other than Italian food and pastries?). On the other hand, I don’t feel like it really tells a story or invokes any feelings. I’ll be interested to see what y’all think.

The reason I ended up posting this one was to help Jeremy Brooks celebrate the posting of his 4000th neon shot to Flickr, an impressive feat by any accounts. Those of you who frequent my website will recognize Jeremy’s names as one of the photographers whose prints I am giving away as part of my fundraising efforts for the charity bike ride I’m doing in Africa in two weeks for Focus Humanitarian Assistance. If you haven’t contributed yet, no worries! There’s still time! Hit the link to read more about it.
