Not a Feeling, An Ability

Nikon D300
16mm, f/4, 1/100 sec, ISO 200

For the longest time, I never really understood why I would ever want a wide angle lens (fisheye or ultrawide). That’s until I borrowed Isaac Pacheco’s Nikkor 16mm f/2.8 fisheye and Jeff Wilson’s Tokina 11-16mm f/2.8 ultrawide. This shot, of course, was taken with the fisheye, but isn’t completely circular because I shoot on a cropped sensor and this lens was made for a full-frame body.

I may not have gotten the best results in my short time with the two lenses, but I’m convinced that I’ll definitely throw a wide angle into my bag at some point (though probably not anytime too soon).
