Not a Feeling, An Ability

For the longest time, I never really understood why I would ever want a wide angle lens (fisheye or ultrawide). That’s until I borrowed Isaac Pacheco’s (WarriorWriter on flickr) Nikkor 16mm f/2.8 fisheye and Jeff Wilson’s Tokina 11-16mm f/2.8 ultrawide. This shot, of course, was taken with the fisheye, but isn’t completely circular because I shoot on a cropped sensor and this lens was made for a full-frame body.

I may not have gotten the best results in my short time with the two lenses, but I’m convinced that I’ll definitely throw a wide angle into my bag at some point (though probably not anytime too soon).

Anyways, back to the shot. This shot was taken inside a wine and cheese shop called Central Bottle Wine in Cambridge, MA. The eleven of us marched into the store, cameras in hand, and were welcome with open arms and free cheese samples. Good people, good cheese, (and fine wine): what more could a person want?
